Bonjour,

Si vous avez une reponse interressant...tell me as well..I am a US citizen, married to a french citizen...I have a "carte de residence" francaise...and I wish to work in Switzerland (Canton de Vaud)...Is this legal? I have been told that unless I am part of the European Union or live in Switzerland it is NOT possible. Our residence is on the french side of the border in the Pays de Gex.

Sincerement...

i went to the foreigner's office in switzerland (canton de vaud) and from what i understand, it is possible to get a "permis frontalier"...along with papers filled out by your future employer, all you need is to have lived in france for at least six months prior to asking. since i've been living in switzerland, they even said that i coudl write a letter along with my demand to explain why i haven't lived in france and that it should still work...
haven't tried it out yet, but i'm crossing my fingers that it works! in your case anyway, it seems that it should be fine but you do need to apply for the permis frontalier by the swiss government. and you need to have the job lined up already...hope this helped!
